Mr. Davies is the head of the Firm's International Tax group, based in the London office. He started his career as an international bureaucrat in 1981 when he joined the Communist leadership in the former Soviet Union. In 1990, he passed Germany's first state tax exam. In 1996, he assisted on tax matters in the successful North-South reunification effort in Korea. In 1999, he assisted Essex Water plc in dumping four hundred million gallons of water into the Atlantic Ocean and taking a thirty-seven billion dollar tax writeoff.
